My current journey is just beginning, but I’ve dreamt of calling the world of archaeology home for decades. Like many people, I ignored my calling in order to make money in the technology field. I may have been fairly successful as an engineering manager and chief of staff at Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, and Activision, but I gained very little from the experience outside of money and crippling anxiety.

Then I attended a week-long retreat at the Modern Elder Academy, where I realized that I still have time to realize my passion! At 52 years old, I’m banking on another 20 years of active, joyful learning and engagement. Why not take advantage of those years to do something for me!
